I am a simple child of the earth, part of a vast creation. And I wonder at Your greatness that would come in me. [@more@]That You would long to be a part of my life. That You would long to be in each person’s life. Yes, each person. Male, female, great, small, old, young, dark, light, rich, poor, strong, weak; each one You long to be a part of; to walk with in their troubles, their sorrows, their happy times, their alone times.
The first step was to become one of us, to actually conquer this world as one of us and taking every iota of our being with You in death to pay the cost of our existence and our failings. Then rising in defiance of the grave, You went ahead of us and took possession of Your inheritance and made a way for us to follow.
I am a simple child of the earth, fashioned with mud and water and yet You were not willing to throw me aside. You were not willing to throw any of your creation aside, but You poured out Your Spirit, Your heart, Your mind, the very essence of Yourself into the very essence of us.
The second step, forming and shaping each of us to be like You. Patiently recreating Yourself in this flesh and blood that You breathed into and made a spirit alive and said it was good!
I am a simple child of the earth, falling before You, naked and shamed as You touch my head and say, “I will be a covering for you. Let Me be a covering for you. No more will you need sacrifices of pain. No more will you be kept separate from My love. Come, and be with Me, your beauty is born in Me. “
The final step, bringing each one that has answered Your whisper, each one that has cried out to know the One, to know You. Gathering them all to Your place of rest and wonder. Finally, a place of acceptance and worth, a place where they’ll never grow tired of being in awe of You.
I am a simple child, born of far greater stuff than this earthly eye can see. What a far greater destiny waiting! I am Your child.
