A GREAT DAY

This is a memorial to all the saints that have gone on before.

A GREAT DAY
By Angela Starcke Warshaw
March 3, 2004

What a Great Day when Jesus my Daddy did see.
What a Great Day when from his body he was freed.
For on this glorious day, his Master he beheld. [@more@]
He took his last breath and left behind an empty shell.
Then I saw him dancing with a grin from ear to ear,
And I remembered the pictures taken through the years.
With the first, he met the Savior and how his face did glow!
His body was young and strong, ready to carry the Gospel
…to the nations he must go!

Then another special gift he was given
(for he said she came from heaven)
Are the pictures of my mother.
Through her entered gentleness, the births of sisters and a brother.
New pictures turn to memories experienced first hand
As I watched God use him as he traveled from land to land.
Through the years, his armor, he did wear;
Beginning with the helmet of salvation that was placed upon his head.
Girded next with truth and righteousness placed on his chest;
He held the shield of faith around us and with the gospel of peace, he progressed.
The mighty sword he carried, he never did misplace.
Back and forth he swung it, determination on his face.
And with a war cry, he shouted,
“This is gonna be a Great Day!”

The picture now before me is a body, tired and worn from suffering, full of fever for several days.
But on the face I see Wisdom and hear a heartbeat pounding hard with Fullness of Grace.
I knelt beside the bed, and weeping, I began, “Go home, Daddy! There is nothing left in this old body for it was made with dirt.”
Telling him of the beauty of God and how much it has all been worth.
Early the next morning, his spirit did soar,
And as he neared the throne room, he heard the mighty roar!
“Great is the Lord! Greatly to be praised!”
I lifted my eyes to Jesus and yes, I heard Him say,
“It is a Great Day!”

“After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number,
Of all nations and kindreds, and people, and tongues
Stood before the throne and before the Lamb,
Clothed with white robes and palms in their hands,
And cried with a loud voice, saying Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne,
And unto the Lamb.” Revelations 7:9-10
